Antisemitism Harms Us All

Let’s be clear: The Jewish community and its allies have been fighting antisemitism for two thousand years. Unfortunately, in spite of our efforts, today we must confront the troubling reality that it is on the rise in America and abroad.

Rooted in hatred and discrimination, antisemitism not only harms Jews it undermines the principles of equality and justice —
eroding the very foundation of our democracy.

Activists, philanthropists, organizations, and leaders have worked tirelessly in this space and continue to do so. We have immense respect for them and their work. At the same time, the attacks on our democracy require us to ask ourselves difficult questions—the most important one being: What needs to be done differently?

The David Merage Foundation is committed to honesty, research, and hope. And to intentionally forge ahead in a new direction.

Our Work

Data show growing antisemitic attitudes among younger Americans. To counteract this growth, we concentrate our efforts and interventions on these generations. We invest in—and partner with—organizations on the frontlines of confronting antisemitism and preserving democracy. Our efforts to confront antisemitism begin with the following initiatives:
People gathering together to confront hate

“Not in My Country”

A multifaith, multisector Congress to Confront Antisemitism & Preserve Democracy: This premier annual event will bring together a diverse group of high-level leaders speaking out against antisemitism, empowering the silent majority to stand up and add their voice, and expose the danger Jewish hate poses to our democracy. This Congress will grow in size and impact each year, reinforcing our collective commitment to upholding the principles of social equality.

Media & Entertainment

It is essential to tell stories that humanize Jews and produce media that accurately represent Jewish life—in its many forms. We aim to mobilize the silent majority to become allies through media literacy initiatives, educational methods like gaming, and immersive experiences that deepen understanding. By amplifying positive press and media, we seek to ensure that good stories are widely shared. These combined efforts can create a more informed and empathetic society that stands against antisemitism.
Ensuring Jews, Judaism, and Israel are safe on campus

College Campuses

It is crucial to uncover and stop terrorist funding on college campuses, collaborate with existing funders to take action against antisemitism, and emphasize successful funding approaches. Additionally, it is vital to update school curricula to portray Middle Eastern history accurately, establish platforms for diversity and respectful discussions, remove faculty and administrators who engage in antisemitic behavior, and make campus safer for Jewish students.
